Being the Executive Director of the newly formed Michigan Clergy Connect in the state of Michigan. I was invited to the White House by resident Biden for the bipartisan passage of the Safer Communities Act bill. Because of the signing of this bill, $250,0000 (Million dollars) will be allocated for gun violence prevention and crime prevention work.
This was the third invite to Washington DC. It was a pleasure to meet the clergy, senators, congressmen and women, that helped on both sides of the aisle to pass the Safer Communities Act. I also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Martin Luther King lll, who is influential in helping us do this social justice and crime prevention work. It was my pleasure to be a part of this auspicious occasion and the work continues.
